Ribbon storage

This is how I store my ribbons. I collect all of my ribbons and put into one place.

I sorted according colors and used plastic container to hold those ribbons. I keep this container inside my wire basket. When ever I need to use it, just pull the wire. I love to dig and find it.

Compilation Challenge

A compilation of challenges I entered. You can see how I learned all those thingy over the years. You may do the challenge too & if you want to share it here please email me at mizzsyu@yahoo.com.
The challenges really help me develop the skills & techniques over the years. For me this is the best way to learn about scrapbooking (theory+practical) & the best part it’s FREE!
Remember perfection is overrated. Come and play along…I’ll post my compilation every Monday (or try to post every Monday :D )

The challenge by Dana

Here's my layout :-

“So I was having this conversation with the girl in my LSS recently, about how people just haven't been using vellum much in their LO's recently. Neither of us could understand why. I think it's time for a vellum revival party! There are lots of ways to use vellum in your LO...my personal fave is for journaling but it's up to you! Create a LO that includes vellum

Here’s my layout :-
I used vellum to print the title and color with versa ink. "

I’m falling in love when 1st time I saw this t-shirt at Giordano Times Square. This shirt is part of "World Without Strangers - Giordano Tee Project". Too bad I’m running out of cash after spending so much at Borders. So I said to DH (dear hubby) I really badly deeply wanted that shirt. One of my bad habit is I cant stop talking and hunting for it. When we arrived Malacca, my aimed besides bring Ireen for a short trip is to hunt for the Stanley shirt. After a long walk finally we arrive at Dataran Pahlawan but too bad none Giordano shop over there. Another walk I guess, how bout Mahkota Parade? I keep looking for Giordano and boom…it’s in front of information counter. I grab the shirt the %% size (lol), try it and paid and la la la la…im walking happily till our hotel. Mission accomplished.

Concept:“People might appear to be cold as robots, but still we have a caring, loving heart towards nature. Over-consumed resources, abused woodlands, seasonal migratory bird lost their homes. But the robot shows his love to these birds, flies the airship and convoys them to a safe home (the robot holds the nest of the birds).”

The artist for this T is Stanley Tai / Taiwan
After graduating from the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, Tai worked as a visual creator. He’s also worked as visualizer, illustrator and has been involved in advertising, product and visual identity design. His works had been featured in various publications, animations, character design and picture books. His former clients include Chinatrust’s 23th “Love for Kids” campaign and 7-ELEVEN 2007 i-cash card. Tai’s retro style combines hand-drawn and computer techniques, he illustrates a fantastic world with rich composition.

Toys?

Anybody remember these toys?

I found these at Jonker Walk, Malacca during our short trip there last weekend. I told hubby, these are my toys when I was a kid. No kidding and he insist me to buy, and I did.
So cool and cant wait to find a place to display it. Currently we're doing a major home organizing. A lot of throwing too... no more clutter ( I hope!)

Rattan

Rizal came to my place in a hot sunny Tuesday afternoon and bring along these lovely gifts for me. I’m touched and honor to receive this fabulous stuff from him.
Thanks Rizal, you’re so thoughtful. I accept it as a surprise gifts for my birthday.
For those didnt have a chance to know him, Rizal is an instructor at Institut Kraf Negara or National Craft Institute. Do visit his blog and you'll amaze with his works.
This wonderful garden rattan with special frame is the last piece and I’m the last lucky person to receive it after Emila & Manggis. The moment I received the frame I keep telling myself, Ida please behave and don’t jump in front of Rizal. When I arrived back in my office, I called most of my friends and starting to show the goodies I received. It’s more to explaining the rattan rather than show off. Check out his tutorial for the butterfly http://restnrileks.blogspot.com/2008/04/rama2-kraf-rotan-rattan-butterfly.html
How pretty it is? It’s darn pretty. I plan to hang on wall but for now it sits nicely at our display cabinet. Perfecto!

This is perfect for my studio. The flowers made from rattan will be a great wall deco and if you want to make for yourself please follow this tutorial, http://restnrileks.blogspot.com/2008/04/tutorial-rattan-craft-flower-bunga.html
The Rattan Basketry Coiling Technique is perfect for my scrapbook stuff, yippee!

.
The cucuk sanggul is a custom-made in Malacca. I plan to use it for coming Aidilfitri but I just had my hair cut yesterday L . I hope by that time my hair is long enough to hold a cucuk sanggul.
Rizal, im going to Malacca this coming school holiday. Any yummy restaurant recommended?
If you ask my dear hubby he will say that I can’t get enough books, I love books either its blank, novel, pics or what ever, it’s always give me a good vibe. I love this notebook so much and love the 3d of it cover.
What can I say, I surrounded by wonderful people. Thank you so much for wonderful though and I’m honor to be your friend.
To others, I love you guys too….thanks for dropping by and being my friends.
Bye-bye and have a nice day!

My Day

Finally everything falls into places. It’s not an easy task and I have to work within a very limited time and the worst thing is the slow internet connection. What a bummer!
Hopefully I can catch my breath after this and keep blogging as usual. My humble apologized to all of my readers.

Thank you for all the wishes I received and a lot of gifts too. I promised to share with you my birthday photos right? Actually we didn’t snap much photos as we’re too busy driving here and there. Just let me walk you through the place we went that day. Hope it won’t bore you.

1. We started our day at McDonalds. Ireen having her fav. Sausage Mc’Muffin and enjoying watching Winx Club on television over there. This is the only day she has a chance to watch Winx Club. You’re right she skip school today but not her fault we (me n dh) decided to give a day off for her. It’s my day and I want her being my side. Love her so much! We have to wait till 11am before we can leave for a next spot. I’m so happy she enjoy her show at Mc’D.

2. A friend called and sings a birthday song, thanks Zizah. Love you! I received a lot of sms’s too. Thanks guys.
3. We went straight to IKEA and grab some stuff. It’s sale happening there till 17th August. I bought a few frames for my scrapbook layout and some organization tools. She loves this desk.
4. It’s almost 2pm when we finish shopping and its time to feeds again. We went to one of our favorite restaurant i.e. Warong Penyet http://www.waroengpenyet.com/ at The Curve. Yummy ayam penyet with beef soup and my fav drink Soda Gembira. Really word it. If you in town you should try their food and don’t forget their yummy sambal for extra kick. Their special sauce in a bottle which most of people didn’t aware is very nice when you eat with the fried chicken. Just squeeze the sauce on top of chicken. Nyum Nyum. I feel like going there right now.
5. It’s movie time, so we went to Sunway Pyramid. We watched Hancock. Bought some doughnuts and some shirts. It almost dusk and I feel so tired. Still I have one place to go. One day I want to skate too. Can we go Sunway Lagoon? Please mama, daddy?
6. The Garden, I went to Art Friend a craft/art store. For my lovely friends who I knew they definitely love this place, Art Friend is in 3rd floor beside Borders. The arrangement of stuff not so nice but most of the needs stuff is there. I did a lot of damage here. While Ireen and dh went to Borders and grab some books. A perfect gift from dh n Ireen.
Love it so much.
7. Finish shopping and my legs started shaking. We settle down at one of the kopitiam till the mall close.
8. Arrive home almost midnight.

Part II will be coming soon….have a nice day….ciao!
