2014 is here...

I love my studio.
I love the stuff inside it. Its a complete for a scrapbooker. But lately I just collecting stuff instead of creating.

To create 12x12 is really time consuming. What would I do?
1. Scrap small scale 8x8
And... I bought this book from Typo. And im thinking to do a page here for 2014...

Let see if I can fill up this project.
And I hope it is not to late for me to wish you happy new year!

Some Gelato & misting.
PP from stash.
Washi tape by Typo
Punched leaves
30minutes to complete this page.....

22 December 2013

Today, I decided to scrap small scale. 8x8.
To scrap my stash.
Life is getting busier but that doesn't mean I can't scrap.
For 15 minutes I can make this page by grabbing what in front of me.
One memory has been captured, mission accomplised.

i carry your heart with me...forever

By E. E. Cummings 1894–1962
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
                                                      i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
I printed the poem into vellum and used gesso as background texture.
Happy accident on my heart shapes dimensional. Just because the paper is too thick and my punch cant get thru. I just love this photo with different emotion from my girls.

Project Life 2013 : How to start for beginner....(me)

Happy New Year!
  • Yeah I know I know...it has been a month since new year but only now I have chance to wish you happy new year.
  • Today I want to share how I'm doing my project life.

  1. Photo

I sort my photo weekly, I created special folder for Project Life 2013. Under it,  subfolder for week 1, 2, etc. I just drop the picture that I want to include into PL in respective folder. Even if I'm busy and behind I still can catch up as my photos has been organized by week.

Every weekend I will print the photo and put inside the clear holder sleeve and label with week 1, week 2 ...etc

2.  Page protector/ photo pocket

My preference is BigVariety  Pack 1

3. Kits

Just because I have so much paper, cardstock, stickers and etc. So I opt to create my own kit.
It is just simple as cutting the paper to fit the page protector. I store my kit inside an old diskette holder.

4. Label
I designed simple weekly tab and print it out.

Now it is time to assemble the pieces..........the fun part (I guess)
Slot in the card into the pocket. (Yes as easy as that)
I love to print my journal together with the photo. (Super easy and save time)
And slot in the photo. Since my photo is too small I will use some paper as background before slot into the page.

I coloured the designed weekly tab and make it as page title.

(Tips: instagram is my absolute secret weapon for project life....we will discuss bout it if you curious to know)
Here is the sample not so perfect but I Love it.......Project Life.
Any comments and inquiry I'm happy to answer.
(sorry for not so perfect photo but this is to give you the idea)
I will update my Project Life once my January is complete.
Thank You! xoxo IdaKarim

Your Smile Melts My Heart

I almost.... almost fail to complete this week case. Almost give up to let the creativity lead the page. But I'm glad I just continue and complete this page. One thing for sure, I want my girls to read me..my story and my heart. The design and colors are just a fun thing to do.

Take a sneak peek before full layout.....
Paper cutting deer....faux stitched. Melting heart attempt = craft glue + glitter + acrylic

Hidden journaling inside the vellum pocket. Little birdy admiring how happy we are.

Spot the altered alphabet?
Here is the full layout. Notice behind the vellum? It was suppose to be original design. But I mess up and overlap with vellum and working on top of it.

Thanks for visiting.....I hope you enjoy your stay. xoxo

Case 45 : My passion

I was going overboard when creating this week case, till the page finish I realised the color is no longer as above.Silly me....what am I thinking. But I'm happy with this week page. My voice is inside the journaling. I used inspiration word : comfort, family and home for my journal and inspiration for the page design.
The evidence :- silver metal on the door knob, lamp, vintage text.
Here's the page :-
You might no see here clearly, but I'm running out of "a" so I combine "o" and "i" to make "a" for word passion.
Open up my girl photo and you will see another 3 photos of my passion.....books, crafts and my studio.Love this idea for hiding more photos to add some fun and interactive layout.

Lately, I'm falling in love with scroll. Scattered scrolls on the floor to represent how I love to write a list. (yes I have a lot of lists....)

The door inspired by Benefits catalog, in fact I cut out the words Art Lovers Welcome from their page.

My journal tucked behind the photo. I labelled it ....

I love love love my first attempt to create something different from what I did. Of course it took a lot of time but I'm happy with it. Get out of norm.

Thanks for visiting. Thank you very much! Keep creating .......

Our fav Sunny day : CSI Challenge & Scrapfriends Sketch

  • Two tempting challenges, one limited time. Hence, I combined these 2 challenges into one layout. Often scrappers did this, and now it is my turn.
  • Wonderful Scrapfriends sketch

I just love the idea to make a scroll for my journal. Thanks to lovely Kay Fatula. Because of you, I now can journal as long as I want.

Thank you for visiting....Thank you very much.

Bragging time....

  • I never did this before. Somehow I need to give a pat on my back.
  • Without further ado....bragging time ( I never did this before, I told you earlier right?...so please please bear with me....)
  • One morning, I felt down and lousy....I open the CSI webpage and saw this.....
My page for These Shoes are Made for Walking has been selected as Most Wanted this week.
Thank you...Thank You Very Much......
