CSI : Case File 03

I'm stuck with this case. It took me a few days before I manage to solve it.
It all started when I just color the scheme using pencil color into my memo pad. From there I just let the color sit and one night I remember I took a picture of Irees ,with pink dress and flowery hat. As usual I just add wording into the photo. I love wording photo ❤
Next I just grab my pattern paper according color scheme and start jotting down what the CSI want for this case (refer above evidence & testimony)
While I'm working with the page (with Twilight OST background music – shh this is secret of my mojo) I try to cross one by one the evidence & testimony.
Though I can’t complete all the evidence & testimony but I think I get it close….
Without further ado, here is my take. A story about my little one ‘waiting with pleasure’, with a pack of Twisties, she running around the hotel lobby while waiting for daddy to check out. I just try to create scene to mimic her imagination as little kid.

Circles element (balloons) + heart + splatter of white acrylic + hand drawn

How about some window treatment with an owl + heart = I just love how these elements blend together.

The tag = leftover circles from my office punch + doily print (I just trace the edge) + stamp + fussy cutting pp

Combination of rub on + hand drawn into gold metallic element. Just because I’m running out of rub on.

When I saw the scene I knew Im going to be crazy bout the background but but but….I dont have the luxury called TIME. If I have a lot of spare time…

So here is my take….very simple page and a little bit naughty playing fool for this layout….trying to experiment things.

CSI : Case File 01

I stumble into CSI website during googling a few days ago. Its a new website with a new twist. Not only the color but a lot of other technique into one challenge. Does it sound bonus?

What a creative way to handle such challenge. Good job to Debbi Tehrani and the team.

Here is my take for above challenge..the only thing I didn’t put is pins. I dont have it :(

I made these stamp from rubber and use for journaling. Love it. The love and button as bow. Repeated stamp for photo mat as background. Dolie as lace element. Numbering journaling.

This cloud from LOVE rubber stamp ( I made it) 3d effect. Misting the background with green.

Project Life 2012- Week 1

This asthma is never kind to me. Till today I had to take 3 times nebulizer. No ice, no hot and oily food. I took honey and lemon. Oh please go away.
I took a lot of pictures, oh yes I do but sometimes I feel guilty those pictures is not properly store, display and tell a story behind it.
So I came out with simple solution, why not join Project Life? But too bad the products is not avail in KL and I don’t want to spent much money for the project I not seeing if I can complete.
For a trial basis I came out with an idea of digital pages. I will review how this system go and see if I can catch up for the whole year. At the end of the year I can order photobook for this project.
Believe me, I have a lot of abandon /unfinished projects :(

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party

We’re celebrating our little girl 2nd birthday with Mickey Mouse theme last month. Irees loves Mickey Mouse so much and I decided to do a Mickey theme.

Here’s is some photos and info if you plan for the same birthday theme.

I found these Minnie headbands at dollar store near Jusco Cheras Selatan. The price is only rm1.90. If only I found it before I made these headbands….so save time and go to dollar store as mentioned.

48 cupcakes with two different flavor ordered from Bee Rusk. This is the first the owner, Maria made the cheese topping. I love cheese and I want it….. to my surprise (and Maria too) the taste is damn good. Maria bakes a very tasty chocolate flavor.

This blue Mickey wrapping paper I bought at Ikano party shop. I wrap the candy bar and put on dessert table.

Row of balloons, I just slip between the table. Jars contain candy…lots of candy.

Perfect for photo background…grab it from Party Shop in Ikano.

Alphabet pasta…the kids love it. One of the menu ..

Party pack consist candy,chocolate,mickey’s batch, mickey’s watch, sunglasses and headband(they wear it straight away).

The party over and im glad with all the hard work and never ending searching here and there…..the party is success and quests are happy…..

My friend said I’m crazy, I always carry a books(yes I carried more than one ) though most of the time I haven’t had time to read it….

I don’t know what the Book Fair did to me, but when I reached home from Kuala Lumpur Intl Book Fair I fell rush on me and really want to create something….something…anything….. But my home is really in big chaotic as painting the whole room was in progress. *sigh*

Sneak peek into my scrap~~book.~~ room. *sorry*

My name tag on cork by ikea , the tag I made a few years back to attend crop party at lss. Once a while I rotate the art/creation inside this studio.

I stored away most of my inspiration stuff and put a new stuff here. The space wont be empty too long in fact by now I have put a few photos to scrap. Now this board will act as my page planner.

My work in progress, now I have a space for WIP and it was nicely display. I like!
Can you believe it was freebies from the internet? I’ll share the info about my wip in next post.

I promised myself not to keep my pp too long, instead I put it here for display and for me to scrap. No more feeling guilty to cut these lovely pp. Most of it from Fancy Pants Love Birds line. Love the color and cute design. One layout from this line has been created and will post the lo later.

Mist…newly bought. Love the effect but a bit pricey. I tried it this morning and really love it….now I want more color *sigh*

Another indulgence, I really love bird stamp+punch by Martha Steward.
The Street Lace cb, wait for me…I have ton of ideas to play with you. Just hoping I have time to play.

The pink basket, a place to throw my stuff after scrapping. It wont look nice as this after I’m starting scrapping.

Today with a cup of coffee I'm so excited hunting for a photo display ideas.
Oh I lied, rather than hunting for photo to display, I went to my studio and grab my frame from Ikea and painted it. While waiting for the frame to dry why not I'm looking for some inspiration again *wink*

I’m glad I manage to slip into my studio and creating something despite my heavy schedule.

This layout is about my girls, their bonding as a sisters and the day the Ireen celebrating her 11^th birthday. The birds element in this page is my favorite for this moment (yeah I know Im little behind in this sb trend but its okay I don’t mind to be left out)

As I scrap over the year I realised I tend to used bright colors. I think after hard day at work bright color boost my energy and creative juice.

The baby is taking her nap and I try to use this time to blogging. I hardly blog lately not because I lost my mojo but I lost control of my time. Workload is demanding and I need to prepare myself for next year changes and at the same time to standby my girl for upsr.
Today I want to share how I organize my digital photos. Here is how
I sorted by photos under year- occasion /person –date + simple note
And don’t forget to delete the duplicate photos and back up your file into cd/dvd/external hd.
extra tips - I used http://picasa.google.com/to jot my journal and label with star the outstanding pictures.

Declutter

Fuh!

Sorting, rolling,cutting and clipping. That what I did since last night. Its because I cant stand anymore the clutter inside my studio. I started purge my ribbon and sort it nicely (nice in my own way).

Some I just leave it inside the roll and stand it using a chopstick, some I just roll into the ribbon organiser and put inside the basket. Seldom used ribbon I put inside the clear container.
I'm thinking how many days these ribbons will stay organised because I dont trust myself. Im messy and visual scrapper, I cant handle hidden stuff.

Later, when the studio a bit clean (50%) I just sit and stamp these image and start playing with
Copic Marker.

Tomorrow I plan to wake up early (but now already 1.38am) and do some cleaning...but mmmmmm ....

Today is 7th day we sleep at hospital. Ireen (1st dd) has been admitted since last Tuesday for viral fever and to be exact Mycoplasma Pneumonia. Its killing me when I have to see her suffers every time she receives the antibiotic treatment.
Please pray for my girl. Thanks.

Ole-ole untuk dibawa pulang ke Malaysia. Singgah di Amanda pada hari terakhir sebelum pulang. Harga kek kukus ni dalam lingkungan RM8 sekotak. Bila balik kena terus makan atau bagi kepada kengkawan/sedara sebabnya expiry date dia dalam 3-4 saja.
Personally I love the original taste. Next time beli yang original saja.
Selain Amanda, kek kukus yang famous ialah Kartika Sari dan ada beberapa lagi.
Lain kali sajalah kita cuba ye......nak cari crime partner untuk shopping ke sana lagi ni. Hari tu banyak buang masa sebab duit habis awal.

Bandung 2 - Rumah Mode

Rumah Mode.
Sampai saja kami terus ke Rumah Mode, plan asal nak tempah langsir di Jalan Alkateri tidak menjadi sebab faktor2 luggage. Takut terlebih berat. Khabarnya Rumah Mode ni busy on weekend , since sampai hari Jumaat kami terus singgah sini. Masa sampai sini tak banyak membeli sebab masih blur dengan currency lagi, mata pun mamai. My friend cakap I jetlag...kelakar gak kan baru 1 jam beza masa dah jet lag. Time ni hujan rintik, tapi excited punya pasal ambil jela gambar walau hujan.

Hari Isnin, repeat shopping di sini. Last minutes sebelum balik Malaysia. Time ni baru terbuka mata dah. Banyak beli baju kerja for me and hubby di sini. Banyak juga pilihan size untuk orang2 comel cam ai ni. Brand tempatan Minimal banyak menjadi pilihan kami di sini.

Nampak patung ni pakai macam cantik saja, terus masuk dalam dan cari. Kali kedua di sini susunan dah lain. Stock pun yang lain. Agaknya masa weekend kena serbu. Kalau weekend dia akan bagi paper bag tapi kalau weekday cuma plastic bag. Lepas dah puas shopping sementara nak tunggu pukul 1 dan bertolak ke airport kami bersantai lagi di Java Bean cafe, hari pertama sampai kami dah cuba pizzanya. Maka hari terakhir pun makan juga pizza yang sama. Pembuka dan penutup dengan pizza. Pizza ni nipis dan garing walaupun dah sejuk.

Masa hari pertama sampai, excited.

2. watch out fake item, berlambak2 di FO di sini. Kena pandai menelek :D

Kali ini kita bercerita lain dari biasa, my shopping trip to Bandung, Indonesia. Kami bertolak dari KLIA dan sampai di Bandung Airport tepat pada waktunya.(1.30petang dan tiba 2.40 petang waktu tempatan (Malaysia 3.40). Bandung lewat satu jam dari Malaysia. I spend the whole day at home yesterday. Its quite productive day I will say.
Between chores, kids, cooking and TV , I managed to slip in inside the studio and playing with felt & ribbon.

I made a lot of hairclips recently, hari raya is coming and give it as a gift would be sweet (I think).

I settle up with WIP inside some container and thanks to LAURA (Bugs & Fishes) for her fab idea and blog.

I’m thinking about my work coming plan, we have to attend a lot of classes and course on weekend. Do they don’t have a family? Why they took our time with family? No more quality life? Oh I can’t think anymore it’ll spoil my mood.

I love weekend! Pls dont take it from me.... it will kill my creativity & quality !!!!

I was pretty tired recently; being in banking industry is never easy. But it never took away the art and creativity inside me. I have been blessed for that.

I love this blog not only the place I use to hide but this is the only place that I can type without worried about the correct grammar used. I’m not very good in English by I'm trying and learning to improve it. I have to hide the “shame” away. :)

Back to craft, I have to promise myself to be more organize but sometimes I have short of time to stay organized.
A few days ago I stumble into this blog by Laura "Lupin" Howard, from her I learned how she does the workbox. WIP box
I think it was a brilliant idea. I have a lot unfinished work and she came to rescue.
This weekend I’ll try to put the unfinished work into WIP box. Hoping to see the result and I’m blogging this to remind myself for this mission.

This is my studio, nothing special in here but this is the place when I want to get creative aka release tension.
Most of the storage are inexpensive. I asked dh to keep an empty bottle and a milk can so I can use it for storage.
Still a lot of stuff to do inside this studio for example labelling, declutter, and keep it simple as possible.

Happy Teacher's Day!
I created these bookmarks special for dd's teachers.
Hope the teachers will make a good use of it.

Here is how to :

Pattern paper (prefer the thick pp), flowers,buttons,ribbon,glue,scissors and your choice of embellishemnt.
cut 3x8 as many as you wish to make the bookmark
ink the edges of you wish to add some dimension
sew the flower and button then attach the ribbon behind it.
flip the pp and glue it. the reason is to hide the sew and ribbon.

Scrapbook on canvas

Today between chores & kids I manage to slip into my studio a few times and finish these canvases.
The size is 6x12. One of my missions this year, if I buy anything new I promise to scrap it right away. The canvases I bought last week so do the Bo bunny pp. The paper kinda cute! This project is kinda hybrid scrapbook. Printed pics with brushes then added words strips,some glitter,ribbon,buttons (always be my fav), acrylic and finish. Same design to all canvases.
I started this project to fill up empty wall on my living hall. Not like my studio which full of stuff, my living hall is minimalist. Now im going to throw some color and art into it. I think its going to be fun and memorable wall.

Simply Ida – my express scrapping recipe

I need some place to jot down my note and I think if I put into my blog it’s easy for me to refer back. I edited the Simply Ida and here it is.

My express scrapping recipe “Simply Ida”
1.   I start with photo, what story I want to share. Most of the time I scrap about our daily life and things that matter. Sometimes I like to show my feeling.
2.   From the photo I write down the journal, I used picasa and journal direct into it. Sometimes during this stage I choose the title but sometimes I wait till I'm ready to scrap.
3.   How many photos to use? Open the favorite scrapbook sketch site & choose the sketch that showing no. of photos I wanted to scrap.
4.   Choose a color combo from the photo or color wheel. Choose up to 4 colors.(do checkout some site offer the color combo)
5.   Print the photo and gather the background paper and embellishment according to color choose in step 4, this is the kit. For temporary storage keep inside 12x12 file/album or just use paperclip to bind them together.
6.   The page is ready to scrap………………

The key is don’t wasting too much time thinking. I wasted 2 days to create only 3 layouts without proper plan and with this plan + time allocate I manage to scrap 12 layouts in 5 ½ hours. (average 30 minutes per lo)

This formula works for me and I do hope it can benefit others too…..

Chronology of my trimmer

Zision is my 1st trimmer and I love it so much. Now I use it as a scoring since I'm running out of it blade.

Fiskar is the stock I have when I opened an online store a few years back. At first I like it but when it come to straight line, it never does and 12x12 never fit to it cutter. I think the measurement out by 1or2mm. Still I used it for a long time since I have a lot of extra blade.

Yesterday I bought a new one, just a gift for myself as I manage to get back into scrapping world. It’s a little expensive from above trimmer. Haven’t try it yet…I think she is a good trimmer…isn’t you Cutterpede?

Simply Ida

NSD is over…..can’t wait for another online crop.
I made total 15 layouts for this NSD. Personal record is yesterday when I make 12 layout within 5 ½ hours. I have to think fast and limit 30 minutes for each layout. With this formula I can do it again for next time. I called it “Simply Ida” scrap formula. (haha)

photos (what story/expression you want to tell)
journaling
sketch
color combo
make a kits (choose pp & embellishment base on color combo, sketch & story to tell)
I keep inside 12x12 album until I ready to scrap.

My process during 2010 NSD ( I devoted one day for this)
List down challenge to do
Print photo
Choose color & sketch
And at night I sit down in front of TV and fill in the album with photo + pp + embellishment
Next day I just scrap whatever inside the folder one by one and limit myself 30 minutes each. Sometimes I made lo for 15minutes.
After finish the lo I snap the picture and keep the finish.
When all the lo’s finish I upload the pictures and begin to submit into the challenge site.
Now clean up the scraproom (which I didn’t because I need to working today…so my scraproom in a huge mess but I feel so satisfy with the result)

Here is my first project for Project 12 and the first paper scrapbook for this year.
I try not to buy anything this year and try to finish up my stock. My home is not too big for me to be a hoarder.
Warning : You gonna see a lot of outdated paper and stuff in my coming lo's.

I love doing this flowers, cutting,curl the end,glitter and 3d foam and its ready.

If you want to play around do check it out here and basically Project 12 is a collection of photos/event/recap of the month. In year 2008 I did a calendar challenge which quite similar to this. My Project 12 will shows a summary of events happened not only limited to one event.

Mee kuning beli dari orang kampung Negeri Sembilan masih ada lagi dalam peti ais, nak buat apa la plak? google la cari resepi Mee Kari Nyonya....

Adus panjang-panjang la plak resepi korang ni, aku ada masa dlm sejam je nak memasak....kalau dpt masak 1/2 jam lagi bagus....mmm ada pun resepi yang simple. Aku print,highlight barang2 yg nak dibeli n simpan dalam hangbag sat lagi masa ambil anak2 boleh beli dekat kedai bahan-bahan tu.

Setengah jam di dapur tadi dah inilah hasilnya, bukan saja nampak sedap tapi memang sedap. Aku tak puji masakan aku tapi aku puji kepada pemberi resepi. Thanks ya Onigiri di my resepi.

2 kuntum bunga lawang
1/4 ekor ayam di cincang kasar
sawi, taugeh, telur dan bawang goreng sebagai pelengkap.

tauhu bulat (yg siap goreng tu..aku x tahulah apa nama dia)

Cara-cara

Mula-mula kisar bawang besar dan bawang putih higga hancur, kemudian tumis dengan kulit kayu manis dan bunga lawang hingga naik bau.
serbuk kari dibuat pes dengan mencampurkan cili kisar dan tumis bersama bahan kisar tadi dan masukkan daun kari. tumis hingga garing dan pecah minyak.
masukkan ayam dan kacau sebentar. kemudian masukkan santan dan fish ball,udang,tauhu bulat . kacau sentiasa.
bila kuah telah menggelegak, masukkan daun kesum dan sesuaikan rasa, tambah garam atau gula jika perlu. aku x pakai gula
rebus telur, celur sawi, mee kuning dan taugeh sebagai pelengkap mee kari nyonya. rasa mee kari ni mmg lain dr yang lain dan tak muak bila memakannya. boleh juga ditabur sedikt bawang goreng. Selamat mencuba.

Weight Watcher

Sudah beberapa hari aku asyik googling utk mencari info mengenai Weight Watchers.
Hajat hati nak join online Weight Watcher tapi aku terjumpa pula banyak info-info yang mungkin akan menjimatkan duit.

Secara amnya weight watcher ni aku pernah cuba cuma versi klinik Malaysia punya, doctor bagi aku buku dengan senarai makanan yang aku boleh makan mengikut point. Contohnya point aku ialah 20 untuk sehari so aku cuma boleh makan makanan yang mengandungi 20 point saja.

Pada yang berminat bolehla cuba step ni….
Step to be taken :-

Kira berapa point kita dibenarkan untuk makan dalam satu hari.
(Cara untuk mengira aku copy dari yahoo answer )

"1. Are you female?- score 2 Male?- score 8 A nursing mom?- score 12

2. How old are you? 17-26- score 4 27-37- score 3 38-47- score 2 48-58- score 1 over 58- score 0

XX Jumlah ini adalah point yang aku boleh makan setiap hari tapi ada tambahan 35 point dalam seminggu, maksudnya dalam sehari aku boleh makan xx point + 5 point atau boleh juga redeem point tersebut dalam mana-mana hari asalkan dalam masa 7 hari. Kwim?

Donna's Progressive LO Challenge

Here is what you will need for sure:

3 co-ordinating pps
2 co-ordinating cs
3 photos ( that can be cropped if you need to)
co-ordinating embellies of your choice

Step 2

Cut mats for our photos with one of your cs...the other cs will be your base. All 3 photos WILL go in one page so if you need to crop your photos do that now too!

Step 3

From your 3 pps cut a piece of each.. one at 8 x 5, one at 5 x 4 and one at 9 x 2

Step 4

Using the same 3 pp's I want you to cut 2 circles from each one but they need to be different sizes and the biggest shouldn't be be bigger then 2 1/2 inches byt it's up to you. I also want you to cut 3 different size circles from the cs that you used to mat your photos.

Step 5

Take your circles and crinkle them up and then open them back up. When done with that I want you to ink all your edges....the circles, the pieces of pp, your mats and your base.

Step 6

Take all your circles and make 2 piles. Take one from each cs and pp's and stack them from largest to smallest. When you are happy with the way you have them adhere them together with a brad in the center.

Step 7

Take your photos and adhere them to your mats. Take your 3 pieces of cut pps and adhere them to your base cs.

Step 8

Arrange your matted photos onto your layout...when you are happy with where you have them. adhere them to your layout. DON'T forget to leave room for your title.

Step 9 - The Final Step

Add your title, journaling and circle flowers. Add any other embellues that you want.

Ribbon storage

This is how I store my ribbons. I collect all of my ribbons and put into one place.

I sorted according colors and used plastic container to hold those ribbons. I keep this container inside my wire basket. When ever I need to use it, just pull the wire. I love to dig and find it.
